April 2017 President’s Message

Published by Webmaster on

Lions, CISs and friends,

Mahalo to Lion David Iwana who accepted the position of Zone Chair for Region 5 Zone 2 for the upcoming year. Lion David is a capable Lion who will bring much to the table as he is very knowledgeable of the happenings of our zone.

Thank you to Lion Eric Kvick who is chairing the upcoming Hawaii Food Bank’s 28th annual Food Drive to be held on April 15, 2017. Although there will be many locations throughout the island, the Hawaii Kai Lions will be assigned to collect money and canned goods at Costco in the Hawaii Kai Town Center.

Our deepest condolences to Lion Keith Katsuda, whose mother passed away recently.

The month of April will be a busy month for us. We will be doing our library visitation on April 20, 2017 and holding our Charter Night and Installation of Officers on April 21, 2017. Four Lions and their spouses from the Nagoya Joto Lions club will join us for both the library visitation and Charter Night Celebration.

Another thing that will happen in April is our yearly fundraising event. We received permission to sell our Pancake Breakfast tickets from the Hawaii Kai Shopping Center on April 1 & 2 and April 29 & 30 in front of Longs and Safeway. We will also start canvassing on April 9 and every Sunday except on Mother’s Day. On canvassing days, meet at Burger King at 8:00 am, have a breakfast on the club and start canvassing at 9:00 am. Lion Ken Nishibun will have routes to be covered for each day.

Let us remain involved and focused as we keep the Hawaii Kai Lions Club as one of the best in Hawaii. Keep up the good work.

Lion Roy Aoki

2016-2017 President
