Hawaii Kai Lions District 50 - Club Number 14324

December 2015 President’s Message

Published by Webmaster on

Aloha Lions, CIS and friends of Hawaii Kai Lions!

The year-end holiday season is upon us and as most of you know, it is my favorite time of year! Thanksgiving was great with family and friends, followed by our much anticipated annual Hawaii Kai Holiday Parade, recognizing organizations within our community and especially our Lions! With everyone’s help and guidance by Lion Ken Nishibun, it was again a fabulous event. This event really marks the beginning of this joyous season.

As the calendar year comes to a close, our community activities are still in full swing. Please pay close attention to the upcoming December/January events such as the vision/hearing screenings, special dinner meetings, member/CIS outings and eyeglass cleaning. Just a reminder, the Lunalilo Home Christmas Dinner on 12/3 and our Club Christmas Dinner on 12/11, will be in place of our two general membership meetings in December. The Board meeting has been rescheduled to Thursday, 12/17.

Let’s all congratulate PDG Roy Aoki upon his election to 1st Vice President, serving at this position until July, 2016. I’m looking forward to his leadership and experience in helping guide our club. Going forward, should anyone have any issues within his area of Administrative committee responsibilities, please contact him.

And the good times just keep rolling along! Let us all welcome our new Hawaii Kai Lions members Lion Ken Staples (Lion Bill Modglin, sponsor)! Being a local boy, he will help continue our clubs growth into the future. For the recent newly inducted Hawaii Kai Lions members, all four of them, we are having a New Member Orientation meeting Thursday, 1/28/2016.

Enjoy the season and remember the real meaning of Christmas. Whether it is in your church programs or in you homes, feel the warm spirit of Christmas past and present. Mele Kalikimaka and Hau’oli Makahiki Hou!

Aloha,
Lion President David Iwana
