December 5th – Koko Marina Center Candy Cane Lane

Once again, due to COVID restrictions, Santa was unable to participate in our annual Hawaii Kai Holiday Parade.  However, our parade partner, Koko Marina Center, came to the rescue and promoted a fun-filled Candy Cane Lane Drive Thru.

Santa’s elves were recruited from the Hawaii Kai Lions Club and Kai Point Baptist Church.  Vehicles with wide-eyed children and children at heart of all ages were presented with a cheery smile, a HO-HO-HO, a goody bag from the Koko Marina merchants, and of course, candy canes!  Vehicle participants also dropped off unwrapped toys for Helping Hands Hawaii.

Ten Lions and CIS participating included Yolisa Ishibashi, Stan Ito, John Kratochvil, Patrick Lynch and CIS Holly, Marja Leivo, Frances Lum, Ken Nishibun, Tom Ono, and Appan Subramanian.  Although December showers somewhat dampened the number of cars driving thru, it did not dampen the Christmas spirit of our mighty Lions!
