July 2015 President’s Message
Aloha Lions, CIS and friends!
Big mahalo to everyone for allowing me to serve as your president for the year 2015-16. The guidance and sage advice from the “experienced” Lions over the past several months has been extremely valuable as I venture forward in Lionism. The warm welcome I received when first joining the Hawaii Kai Lions is a cherished memory. With your continued support and positive “can do” attitude, together we’ll make it another banner year!

Of course, the success of our past year could not have happened without the service of our past 2014-15 Board members. They have paved a smooth path to travel for our incoming Board… Thanks much to our retiring Board members Bill Modglin, Alvin Hayashibara, Kazuo Nakano and Keith Katsuda for their efforts over the year.
Immediate Past President Lion Peggy implemented several wonderful and productive initiatives such as focusing on increasing membership and having an Open House to showcase our club to prospective members. And how about the gatherings that included our CIS, which were great fun had by all? Let’s not forget her improved communications to the club members via Facebook and emails…especially emails, plenty emails. I plan to continue these efforts as well as making sure we focus on our primary Lions Clubs International charge, that “We Serve” our community.
Please stay involved and focused on keeping our Hawaii Kai Lions Club the best it can be! Thanks again for your support! As Secretary Lion Rick told me recently, “Let’s have fun!”
