Hawaii Kai Lions District 50 - Club Number 14324

October 2018 President’s Message

Published by Webmaster on

Aloha Fellow Lions and CIS,

I am so proud of our Hawaii Kai Lions Club Members!

If you have the chance – please check out the handy work of Eric Kvick, Eric Kimura, Ells Fujii and Ken Nishibun for a trophy case and 2 benches built for Kaiser HS Admin Bldg.  It’s absolutely incredible!  The school’s faculty and students are so appreciative to have their awards showcased in style.

Mahalo to the following Lion’s, CIS’ and Friends as we had a busy month with overlapping projects:

  • Hard working members who spent a day cleaning and organizing our storage closet.
  • Maunalua Bay Huki, clearing out invasive seaweed.
  • Kapahulu Bon Dance Setup.
  • Citizenship Ceremony.
  • Going Green Day E-Waste Recycling
  • Vision Screening @ Kamiloiki ES and Koko Head ES.
  • Hanauma Bay Cleanup

We and our potential new members had a wonderful evening at Open House.  Great job to Cindy Giorgis who commentated to her power point presentation which made it clear to understand why, what and how Lion Members make a difference in their Community!

Coming up in October:

1 – Oct 18 – Leo Installation at Koko Head ES cafeteria, 7pm

2 – Oct 19 – Kamiloiki ES Keiki Carnival – 12-3pm and 3-6pm shifts

3 – Oct 20 – 2nd cabinet meeting at Damien HS – 9-12pm

Training sessions 12:30-3pm

Anyone is encouraged to attend

RSVP by Oct 15 – Lunch is available for $7

4 – Oct 22 – Zone meeting at Niu Valley MS – 7pm / anyone invited.

Thank you to Ellsworth who will be conducting our next Business Meeting October 4 and to Marja who will be conducting our Board Meeting on October 11.
